Pageant is a small UK Registered Charity,
established in 2002. We help schools and other educational
establishments in The Gambia, and arrange sponsorship to allow
students to continue their studies. We also provide help to improve
the quality of life, particularly in village communities, as this
often has a profound effect on education.
Our News Page keeps you up to date

The Gambia, showing some of the places where Pageant is active. It
has links to Google maps, which show the exact position of many of the
schools we work with.

How you can help
Join Pageant
- For just £8 a year, you can become a member of Pageant. Membership
subscriptions cover all our running costs, as well as funding some
of our projects. This means that 100% of any donation reaches The
Gambia to help the people there. See
full details of membership.
Sponsor a child's education - Although
primary education is provided free by the state, the family must
still pay for books, food, uniform and travel, and older children
have to pay some tuition fees. Pageant's scheme allows you to
sponsor a child, who might otherwise have to withdraw due to lack of
funds. Students seeking sponsorship are normally recommended to us
by the head teacher. Administration costs are covered by Pageant, so
all of your sponsorship money goes directly to the family, without
any deduction. See
full details of our sponsorship
scheme, and the
enquiry form which shows children
and young people currently seeking sponsorship.
Ethical Gift Scheme Why not give a Pageant Ethical Gift to celebrate a significant
event like a birthday or anniversary? There is a range of
ethical gifts starting at £6.50, which you can donate to schools,
children and villagers in The Gambia. During the
lead up to Christmas, we supply our gift tokens complete
with a Pageant Christmas card.

Pageant by sending us a cheque to the address shown on our
Contact Page or
Donate Online with a credit or
debit card, You can choose to make a donation to be used at our
discretion, or choose a specific Pageant project. UK taxpayers can
take advantage of GiftAid, which allows Pageant to reclaim 28p for
every £1 you donate.
Organise a Fundraising Event
- If you are planning to organise a sponsored event or raise
sponsorship in some challenge, then our
Fundraisers Page
tells you how you can use the the MyCharityPage website to help us.
Examples of previous fundraising events can be seen on our
Fundraising Page.
Donate school equipment
- If you are involved with a UK School, either as a teacher or
parent, please consider donating unwanted equipment or furniture for
us to send to The Gambia. Also surplus office furniture can often be
used by schools with older students. You can see the sort of
equipment
which schools require and how we
ship things
to The Gambia.
Send or take smaller items
- We are often asked what items visitors to The Gambia can take with
them. This list shows
you things which are gratefully received by schools or village
communities. We can arrange for items to be picked up in The Gambia.

us for details.
